We are not going to provide you with yet another article to read about the VUCA environment we find ourselves in. VUCA is an acronym coined by leadership theorists which best describes the situation we are now facing: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity. To make it more challenging, our environment pre-VUCA was one of decreasing trust in leadership, and exponential societal change and transformation.
If there is anything our team can do to help you, please contact us anytime. We really mean anytime. If it helps you brainstorm ideas in confidence, check if there’s someone in our network that can be of assistance, or if anyone at Pantala or one of our Collaborators can step in to support you, let’s talk.
Below you will find:
- A quick summary of our skills and expertise; and

A summary of our expertise:
We tackle complex issues for our clients and for society: trust in leaders and brands, purpose, reputation and communication. When the status quo isn’t working and traditional business and consulting models are being disrupted, that’s where the Pantala team thrives.
OUR TEAM:
Prof Stephen Martin a former Australian Federal politician and senior academic. Currently Stephen is a Professorial Fellow of the Sydney Business School and Chairman of the Bank of China in Australia and the Men of League Foundation. Stephen has extensive government affairs experience, is an excellent facilitator for difficult conversations and discussions, and has an excellent grasp of China, South East Asia and Middle East regions.
Dr Judith Landsberg is a seasoned management consultant, offering clients strong problem-solving and strategic analysis. Her work in climate change and sustainability means she has also been doing extensive scenario planning and forecasting, which can be adapted to our current VUCA status.
Patricia Testoni can make any message look and feel polished, human and real. Her medium of choice is video, but she’s also an excellent writer and story-teller. She’ll listen and observe, and support you in tailoring the best communication strategy that informs and inspires.
Renata Bernarde: My experience is in supporting leaders find their feet, engage their teams and ignite the organisation to perform under challenging circumstances. Complexity has always been my strength, and I’m ready to put it to the ultimate test. I’m also working at Watermark Search International 2-3 days a week supporting the interim team. We place senior, experienced, C-level executives for short-term contracts (3+months) to either hold the fort or initiate a strategic project in government, non-profit and corporate sectors. If you need to replace a (or have a vacant) C-level or Head of role, or need to implement a new project (such as a digital strategy), this can be a perfect solution. I can refer you to the partners who can support you nationally to find the right candidate.
OUR COLLABORATORS:
ImagiNation Team, led by Janet Sernack, an expert in VUCA, innovation consulting and disruption. Her details will soon be on our website. Janet can support your leaders better understand the complexity ahead and embed new and innovative business practices.
MindTribes – where I’m Head of Market Strategy – is an award-winning firm helping businesses develop intercultural business capability. MindTribes has been called upon to deal with the social-profiling issues arising from Coronavirus outbreaks. The Founders Vic and Div Pillay have spent the last 10 years helping multinationals manage remote teams more efficiently. Call me to find out how we can help you deal with similar situations.
BPA Technologies: Diego Thijssen and his team can deploy business process automation platforms that quickly makes systems run cheaper, faster and more efficiently.
Hypercube Scientific: Before enacting a big transformation, why not test it in a twin environment and assess all the potential problems through simulation analysis before deployment?
A2E Partners: Amir Eldad’s expertise is in building international sustainable, complex and high-value interconnectivity between corporations, governments and universities. I see Amir coming to Australia as a guest of governments and institutions for endless talks, and hope we can now start engaging him to activate future and better plans.
Covid-19 Reference List
In addition to official websites and guidelines, I’ve been monitoring institutions and individuals I trust to inform me and my clients. As this is a volatile environment, not all advice and thought leadership are aligned. However, I believe that by following a range of high-quality researchers and policy experts gives us a better perspective and ability to inform the work we do.
If you have additions to this list, I’d be very grateful if you could reply to this email with your contributions.
